1993 –Present:  In 1993 opened Law Office of Cynthia D. Samuel, general practice:  Primarily focus of the practice:  All areas of JUVENILE LAW, including Juvenile Delinquency, Child Protection and Adoptions.
During the 1990's, I additionally handled Family Law and occasionally other civil law and criminal law matters.  


1993 -1997 - Appointed by the Orleans Parish Juvenile Court as Attorney for Children in Child In Need of Care and Termination of Parental Rights cases.


1994-2010 –  Appointed by Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court, all sections, to represent Indigent Parents in Child In Need of Care, Termination of Parental Rights, and Mediations.  Represented thousands of clients and handled hundreds of hearings and trials each year.

1992-1993 – Assistant District Attorney, New Orleans District Attorney’s Office, Harry Connick, Sr.
           • Assigned to Juvenile Division
                 -Practiced in every section of Orleans Parish Juvenile Court
                 -Handled Juvenile Delinquency and Child Protection Proceedings
                 -Conducted over 50 trials in a six month period as well as
                   many other types of hearings
            Assigned to Child Support Enforcement
           •Assigned to Criminal Court Magistrate
                 -Handled Misdemeanor Criminal trials, probable cause hearings &
                   hundreds of bond hearings totaling hundreds of hearings

1991-1992 -- Associate & Office Manager in a private general law office handling all areas of law and office management.
 
1990 - Student Practitioner with the Gillis Long Loyola Poverty Law Clinic, began handling Juvenile cases in Orleans Parish Juvenile Court and other Family Law cases.

1989-1990 -- Law Clerk, Major Downtown Law Firm*.
             •Legal Research for all law firm partners and associates
             •Legal Writing:  Legal memorandum and pleadings

1986 - Internship with the New Orleans City Attorney’s Office, Supervisor Bruce Nacarri
